How CSGORoll's provably fair system works
CSGORoll publishes the maths behind every game, so you can check any result yourself.
- Server seed. CSGORoll generates a secret server seed and shows you its SHA-256 hash before you play. The hash locks the seed in without revealing it.
- Client seed. You can change your own client seed before any roll. Because it feeds into every result, CSGORoll can't pick an outcome against you.
- Nonce. A counter starting at 0 goes up by 1 with every roll, so the same seed pair never repeats a result.
- Result. The seeds and nonce run through SHA-512. The first five hex characters become a number from 0 to 9,999, which sets the result.
- Reveal. When you change your client seed, the old server seed is published. Hash it with SHA-256 and check it matches what you saw before playing.
Crash works a little differently. Each game uses a server seed committed in advance, plus the hash of a future EOS blockchain block that nobody, including CSGORoll, can predict.
