How CSGORoll case battles work
- Create or join. Pick a battle from the lobby or create your own by choosing cases and a format.
- Pay the entry. The entry cost is the total price of the cases in the battle.
- Open together. All players open the same cases round by round, live.
- Collect the win. In Classic mode the highest total unboxed value wins every item from every player. Other modes change the win condition.
Short on players? Fill empty seats with bots and the battle starts straight away. You can also add player-made community cases to a battle by switching the case filter from Official to Community.
Seven battle modes
Pick the number of players (1v1, three or four-way free-for-all, or teams) and then one of seven modes:
| Mode | How it plays |
|---|---|
| Classic | Highest total unboxed value wins everything. |
| Shared | Unboxed skins are split across the squad, so everyone walks away with something. |
| Fast | Quicker animations for players who want results now. |
| Jackpot | Your share of the total value becomes your chance of taking the whole pot. |
| Clutch | It all comes down to a single round: win big or walk away with nothing. |
| Crazy | The rules flip and the lowest total wins. A tie is settled by a coin flip. |
| Terminal | A battle that plays out through the Terminal-style offer mechanic. |
Prefer something different? Case Royale runs live CS2 case-opening battles with its own format.
Modes and their exact rules are shown in the battle creator on csgoroll.com before you pay an entry.
Battle cash-out
Some battles let you cash out part-way through. Whatever you cash out is yours to keep: if you cash out 50 coins and then lose, you keep the 50. If you cash out 50 and go on to win a 100-coin battle, you keep only the 50 you secured. Cash-out is capped at 4 cases per battle and isn't available in Clutch mode or with reward cases.
Strategy tips
- Read the case pool. Battles with high-variance cases swing on a single knife. Low-variance cases come down to many small drops.
- Use Crazy mode wisely. When low rolls are likely, playing for the lowest total can be the smarter pick.
- Try Shared with friends. Splitting the unboxings lowers the swing for everyone in the squad.
- Team up. 2v2 spreads the risk across two players' openings.
- Verify the result. Every round is provably fair. Here's how to check.
- Keep it fun. Battles are fast. Decide your budget before you join, not mid-session.
Frequently asked questions
How do you win a CS2 case battle?
In a standard battle the player or team with the highest total value of unboxed items wins everything. In Crazy mode the lowest total wins, and Jackpot, Clutch and Terminal each have their own win condition.
Can I play case battles against bots?
Yes. You can fill empty seats with bots so the battle starts immediately.
Are case battles rigged?
No. Each round uses the provably fair system, so you can verify the result of every opening after the battle.
What happens to the skins I win?
They go to your CSGORoll inventory. Use them in more battles, or exchange them for coins and request any skin from the P2P market to receive it in Steam.
What happens if Crazy mode ends in a tie?
In a Crazy battle, a tie is decided by a coin flip.
